YSRCP challenges Andhra govt to CBI probe into DSC-2025, offers Group-1 probe

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Monday demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 recruitment process. The party also said it was ready for a similar probe into the Group-1 examinations conducted during its own tenure, challenging the ruling TDP government to match its transparency.

Addressing the media at the Assembly media point, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Botcha Satyanarayana, alleged that Education Minister Nara Lokesh had failed to provide clear answers to questions raised about the DSC recruitment process. “We are ready for a CBI inquiry into Group-I. Are you ready for a CBI inquiry into DSC?” he asked, directly challenging the government to accept an independent investigation.

Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that rules were violated at several stages of the DSC-2025 recruitment process. He specifically questioned the decision to entrust the responsibilities of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), which prepares question papers, and the DSC Convener, who oversees the examination conduct, to the same individual. Such an arrangement, he said, raises questions about the transparency and independence of the recruitment process.

The YSRCP leader also demanded that Mr. Lokesh take moral responsibility for the alleged irregularities and resign as Education Minister until the CBI investigation is completed. The demand comes amid growing political confrontation between the ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP over the conduct of the DSC-2025 exams, which are crucial for filling teaching posts across the state.

Political observers note that the YSRCP’s offer to submit its own Group-1 exam process to CBI scrutiny is a significant move, as it seeks to counter government allegations of corruption during its previous tenure. However, there has been no official response from the state government or the Education Minister so far. The DSC-2025 examinations are scheduled to be held later this year, and the controversy over alleged irregularities has added to the tense atmosphere surrounding the recruitment drive.
