SIR: 76,176 voter inclusion applications rejected; final roll additions trail deletions

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has rejected 76,176 Form 6 applications for inclusion in the final electoral rolls, while accepting 7,08,110 between June 16 and September 23. Net additions are far lower than the more than 80.62 lakh names deleted as shifted or absent, and the office has not yet released figures on ineligible voters or foreign nationals identified during the SIR.
