Military Training Drone Crashes in Uttarakhand, No Injuries Reported

Authorities in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district responded on Thursday after reports of a possible helicopter crash in a remote mountainous area. Initial investigation revealed that the object was an advanced military training drone, not a helicopter.

The incident occurred near the Kakodakhal-Bijrakot motor road in the Sari region. Local authorities and the disaster management department launched a response operation upon receiving information about the crash.

District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar stated that teams were dispatched to the site to gather information and assess the situation. Officials confirmed that the wreckage belonged to an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) used by the Indian armed forces for training and weapon system testing.

The drone is of a type used by the Army, Air Force, and Navy during military exercises. News of the crash drew a number of local residents to the site.

Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported. The exact cause of the crash remains unclear. Officials said that a detailed technical investigation will determine the cause, which could involve technical malfunction or control system failure.

Relevant agencies have reached the crash site and begun their inquiry. Investigators are expected to examine the drone's systems and operational records to establish what led to the incident. The findings of the investigation report are expected to provide clarity on the incident.
