75% of government departments now on eOffice system, says CM Rekha Gupta

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Sunday that the eOffice system, launched on July 1 last year, has brought a 'visible transformation' in government administration. She stated that over 75% of departments and offices are now using the platform for their daily operations.

According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the shift to the online platform has accelerated file disposal, improved transparency, and enhanced accountability. The system has also reduced delays and improved coordination among departments. Since July 2025, more than 1.4 lakh e-files and 9.2 lakh e-receipts have been processed through the system, which now covers 235 departments and offices with 15,748 active users.

Ms. Gupta highlighted that previously, most official work was done through paper files. Now, file movement, correspondence, and approvals are handled online, making it easier to track the status of each file and the action taken. This, she said, has improved accountability.

The CMO confirmed that 177 out of 235 departments and offices—over 75%—are regularly using the eOffice system. Additionally, 21 of the 48 educational institutions have adopted the platform. The government plans to expand the system further to cover more departments and institutions.
