Delhi University (DU) witnessed a strong response on the first day of undergraduate (UG) admissions, with 41,473 candidates registering within 24 hours of the portal opening, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The first phase of the admission process, currently underway, involves registration for approximately 71,600 UG seats across 73 programmes and 100 BA programme combinations. Seats will be allocated based on candidates' scores in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), combined with their programme and college preferences.

Meanwhile, the postgraduate admission process has progressed through two rounds, with 9,675 applicants confirming their admissions. Of these, 4,926 have opted to freeze their seats, while 3,745 have chosen the upgrade option, allowing them to be considered for higher-ranked programmes in subsequent rounds if seats become available.

Admissions for other programmes, including B.Tech and the five-year integrated law courses, are at varying stages. The first round of B.Tech admissions is ongoing, with 233 candidates accepting their allotted seats and 41 completing fee payment. For the integrated law programme, the third round is in progress, and 105 admissions have been confirmed. The deadline to pay the admission fee for this round is June 30.

Overall, the university's streamlined process aims to provide transparency and efficiency, ensuring that candidates can track their applications seamlessly.
