Two BTech Graduates Arrested for Hacking Chandigarh Firm, Stealing Rs 19 Lakh in Amazon Vouchers

The Chandigarh Police have arrested two men from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly hacking into a company's servers and stealing Amazon gift voucher codes worth Rs 19 lakh. The accused then redeemed the vouchers to purchase gold coins and other valuables, which they later resold.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Gaurav Singh and Siddharth Pandey, both BTech graduates from Prayagraj. They are accused of targeting Corporate Incentive Solutions Pvt Ltd, a Chandigarh-based firm.

According to police officials, the company manager filed a complaint on February 3, alleging that the Amazon gift voucher codes issued by the firm had been stolen, leaked, and fraudulently redeemed, resulting in a loss of approximately Rs 19 lakh.

Investigations revealed that Siddharth Pandey allegedly hacked into the company's servers to illegally access confidential data, including the voucher codes. He then passed the codes to Gaurav Singh, who used fake Amazon accounts to redeem them. The police have not disclosed further details about the ongoing investigation.

Both accused have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are underway. The authorities have urged companies to strengthen their cybersecurity measures to prevent such incidents.
