Rajasthan Police Clarifies Viral Video is from UP, Not Sri Ganganagar Gangrape Case

The Rajasthan Police has clarified that a viral video showing a minor girl crying on a hospital bed with her family is from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, and is not related to the alleged gangrape of a 13-year-old girl in Sri Ganganagar in June. The clarification came amid mounting public outrage and demands for strict action against the accused.

In a post on X, the Rajasthan Police stated, 'What you believe to be true is a rumour,' attaching the blurred video along with a text and a video statement from the Hardoi Police. The Hardoi Police have confirmed that the video pertains to a separate incident in their jurisdiction.

According to Hari Shankar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sri Ganganagar, the case began on June 22 when a woman reported to the RIICO police outpost that her 13-year-old daughter had been missing since June 18 after she returned from work. The police launched an investigation and, based on technical evidence, CCTV footage, inspection of the crime scene, and the victim's identification, have so far arrested 14 accused, including one hotel owner and two hotel managers.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police have assured that all accused will be brought to justice. The clarification regarding the viral video is aimed at preventing the spread of misinformation and ensuring that the public remains focused on the facts of the case.
