Advertising Club Trivandrum unveils inaugural LoA Awards, invites entries from across India

Thiruvananthapuram: The Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT), a community of advertising and media professionals in the Kerala capital, has invited entries for its inaugural Love of Advertising (LoA) Awards. The awards aim to recognise and reward excellence in advertising, media, design, digital communication and brand building from across India.

According to a statement from ACT, awards will be given in a dozen categories. Works released between January 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, are eligible for entry. Those involved in the creation of a campaign can submit an entry, provided they meet the criteria. This includes advertising agencies, media organisations, clients, client partners, production houses, design studios, digital partners or individuals, as specified under each category.

Content creators and influencers can submit entries in the Creator-led Branded Content category. Agencies, individuals and students can submit entries in unpublished work categories. Additionally, there is an Independent Creative Excellence category for non-branded work from freelancers, in-house designers and studios.

The 10-member jury includes some eminent names from the industry and is headed by veteran Bobby Pawar, former chairman and chief creative officer at Havas Group. The jury will evaluate entries across categories, with a focus on creativity, craft and effectiveness.

Laj Salam, president of ACT, said, “Through the awards we want to celebrate not just great campaigns, but the passion, craft and commitment behind them. Our vision is to build an awards platform that earns national respect while inspiring the next generation of creative professionals.”

Vishnu Vijay, secretary of ACT, added, “ACT was formed to create a vibrant community where professionals can learn, collaborate and grow together. The LoA Awards is a natural extension of that vision.”

ACT was formed in February 2025 as a non-profit body bringing together advertising, media and communication professionals from Thiruvananthapuram. The club currently has over 100 members. Filmmaker and advertising veteran R Balki officially inaugurated the club in March 2025, and actor Mohanlal released the logo.

Since its formation, ACT has carried out several initiatives, including interactive sessions, networking events, student outreach programmes, sports-based programmes and industry visits. Notable among them was a session to commemorate advertising legend Piyush Pandey, led by Sneha Iype, founder-partner and executive producer of Nirvana Films, and a knowledge session led by Senthil Kumar, the first Cannes Lion award winner and an industry veteran. ACT also marked its first anniversary with an interactive session between Member of Parliament and author Shashi Tharoor and LV Navaneeth, CEO of The Hindu Group.

According to the office-bearers, through LoA, the club has joined the league of prominent advertising clubs across the country that have been recognising creative excellence on a grand scale. The awards are designed to provide a national platform for creative professionals, while encouraging young talent and independent creators.

The last date for receiving entries is August 31. Details are available on the official website, www.loaawards.com.
