The meeting also covered progress on key infrastructure projects, including the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport project and the India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway. Both sides emphasised working closely towards their completion.
Cooperation in combating transnational crimes was a major focus, with discussions on terrorism, insurgency, narcotics trafficking, arms smuggling, human trafficking, wildlife trafficking, cybercrime, and other organised crimes. The two sides agreed to enhance intelligence sharing and operational coordination, as well as undertake capacity-building initiatives to address shared security challenges effectively.
The Indian delegation was led by Govind Mohan, Secretary, MHA, while the Myanmar delegation was led by Major General Min Thu, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and close partnership between the two countries and their shared commitment to further strengthen cooperation for mutual benefit.
