India Dismisses Pakistan's 'Baseless' Link to Karachi Attack, Urges Self-Reflection
India on Sunday rejected Pakistan's allegations linking New Delhi to a deadly attack on a paramilitary base in Karachi, calling the claims baseless.
“We have seen Pakistani reports making baseless allegations against India regarding the recent incident in Karachi. We categorically reject them,” said Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, in a post on X.
“Instead of pointing fingers at others, Pakistan would do better to look inwards, take credible action against the terror infrastructure on its territory and rid itself of its proclivity to rely on terrorism as an instrument of state policy,” Jaiswal added.
The remarks came after at least three terrorists and three paramilitary soldiers were killed when militants from the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attacked a compound of the Sindh Rangers in Karachi, according to the Pakistani army.
During a visit to Karachi on Saturday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused India of using “proxies” to undermine peace and stability in Pakistan.
India has long maintained that Pakistan must take decisive action against terrorist groups operating from its soil. Sunday's statement reiterated that position without directly engaging with Sharif's allegation.
