Custodial Death Probe: SIT Investigates, Circle Inspector Missing

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government began its probe on Sunday into the alleged custodial death of 25-year-old Gade Sai Krishna. The SIT, headed by Inspector General of Police M. Ravi Prakash, visited the task force office and Krishnalanka police station to gather evidence and question officials regarding the alleged torture that led to Sai Krishna's death.

Meanwhile, the NTR Commissionerate Police is conducting a parallel investigation into the illegal detention and screening of evidence in the case. The team is examining records and witness statements to ascertain the sequence of events.

In a related development, leaders from the YSRCP, CPI, and Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) visited the family of Perupogu Kranti Kumar, who died by suicide allegedly due to harassment by Circle Inspector S.S.V.V. Nagaraju. The leaders offered condolences to the bereaved family. Mr. Nagaraju has been suspended by the government in connection with the murder case and is reportedly missing for the past few days.

Locals staged a protest outside a house where Mr. Nagaraju was believed to be hiding, demanding his immediate arrest. The family of the deceased has urged authorities to apprehend the officer, fearing he may influence witnesses or tamper with evidence. The SIT has assured a thorough investigation and appealed for public cooperation.
