Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Slashed by Rs 183.50, First Cut Since West Asia Crisis Eases

New Delhi, July 1: In a move that brings significant relief to restaurants, hotels, and small businesses, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 183.50, effective today. The new price in Delhi stands at Rs 2,930, down from Rs 3,113. This is the first reduction since the supply disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis began to ease.

The price cut comes as global crude oil prices have stabilised following diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. The government and oil marketing companies have passed on the benefit to consumers, marking a reversal of the steep hikes seen over the past year.

Industry bodies have welcomed the reduction, noting that high fuel costs had strained margins for small eateries and dhabas. The cut is expected to lower operating expenses for thousands of businesses that rely on commercial LPG for cooking.

While domestic LPG prices remain unchanged for now, the government has indicated that further adjustments may follow if global prices remain favourable. Consumers are advised to check updated prices on the official portal of their respective oil companies.

Separately, in a tragic incident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, seven people were killed when a bus collided with a truck in Rajasthan's Dausa district early this morning. The bus was travelling from Rishikesh to Indore. Flames engulfed the vehicles rapidly, making escape difficult. Rescue operations are underway.
