Bihar launches subsidised helicopter tourism scheme connecting Patna with three sites
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday launched the Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme 2026, a government initiative to provide subsidised helicopter services to select tourist destinations in the state.
Speaking at the launch event held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat, Choudhary said the scheme aims to make air travel to key tourist sites more affordable for the public. Under the programme, helicopter services will connect Patna with Rajgir, Valmikinagar and Kaimur.
Regular services are scheduled to begin from July 18 and will operate every Saturday and Sunday. The state government will provide a subsidy of up to Rs 15,422 per ticket, reducing the cost for passengers.
The scheme is part of the state government's efforts to boost tourism and improve connectivity to heritage and natural sites in Bihar.
