Andhra Pradesh voter list revision extended: Final roll now on October 3
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday extended the house-to-house enumeration under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Andhra Pradesh. The original deadline of July 14 has been pushed to July 24, with the draft publication now set for July 31 and the final publication for October 3.
The decision follows a request from the Chief Electoral Officer, who cited unfinished digitisation work, and representations from political parties seeking more time. Under the revised schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue household visits until July 24, and the rationalisation of polling stations must also be completed by that date.
Claims and objections can be filed from July 31 to August 30, with disposal running until September 28. The qualifying date remains July 1, 2026. The ECI has directed officials to publicise the changes widely and notify all stakeholders, including political parties.
As of July 13, every one of the state's 4.16 crore electors had been handed a form, and 98.32% of the forms had been digitised. Three districts—Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitharama Raju, and Eluru—have completed digitisation. However, gaps remain: NTR district has digitised 95.43% of forms, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore 95.67%, Y.S.R. Kadapa 96.40%, and Visakhapatnam 96.56%. These four districts account for most of the nearly 700,000 forms still to be entered, spread across 46,397 BLOs' work. The extended timeline aims to close this unfinished digitisation.
