Andhra Pradesh Now Accepts Voice Messages as Official Complaints

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to make government services more accessible by allowing citizens to register complaints via voice messages through the Mana Mithra WhatsApp platform. The move is aimed at simplifying the public grievance redressal system and improving access for residents across the state.

Reviewing the Real Time Governance (RTG) system at the Secretariat, Mr. Naidu stressed the need to further streamline citizen services. Officials informed him that 11 categories of services are being simplified in the first phase under the initiative.

To enhance digital connectivity, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted mobile network coverage across Andhra Pradesh and resolve connectivity issues in nearly 3,000 identified locations within the next three months.

During the meeting, officials presented Navachetana, an Early Childhood Development Screening programme by the Department of Women and Child Welfare. The programme aims to identify mental and physical developmental issues among children, with 33,949 children already screened statewide.

Later, Mr. Naidu visited the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Centre along with CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee and other CII representatives. IT Secretary Katamaneni Bhaskar briefed the delegation on the use of advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, in governance.

The Chief Minister urged the CII representatives to expedite the establishment of the CII Global Leadership Centre in Amaravati. Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, and senior officials attended the review meeting.

Motive Behind MLAs' Resignations Irrelevant, Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretary Tells Madras HC

The Tamil Nadu Assembly Secretary told the Madras High Court that the Speaker is not required to examine the motive behind an MLA's resignation, as long as it is voluntary. The counter affidavit defends the acceptance of resignations of four AIADMK MLAs, arguing that the Speaker acted constitutionally and that the writ petitioner lacks a legal right to challenge the decision.
