18 Amarnath Pilgrims Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Jammu-Srinagar Highway

At least 18 pilgrims participating in the annual Amarnath Yatra were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district early Monday. The accident involved several buses and a car, leading to a pile-up that temporarily disrupted traffic on the highway.

All injured pilgrims were promptly taken to the Ramban district hospital, where medical officials confirmed they had sustained only minor injuries and were in stable condition. No fatalities have been reported.

Local police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision. Initial reports suggest that poor visibility due to fog and possibly excessive speed may have contributed to the accident.

The Amarnath Yatra, which attracts thousands of devotees each year, is currently underway. Authorities have urged all pilgrims to exercise caution while traveling, especially on the mountainous stretches of the national highway.
