Venezuela Declares Emergency After Dual Earthquakes; NIA Reveals Pahalgam Plot Details
Venezuela has declared a state of emergency after two powerful earthquakes struck the country in quick succession, with the stronger of the two being the largest recorded since 1900. The quakes caused buildings to collapse in the capital Caracas, and several people are feared dead. Videos circulating on social media showed buildings crumbling and residents fleeing into the streets as the scale of destruction became evident.
In a separate seismic event, a magnitude 7 earthquake hit Japan, jolting Hashikami Town in Aomori Prefecture. The epicentre was off the coast of Iwate Prefecture. Japan's meteorological agency issued tsunami advisories for coastal areas.
In an unrelated development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet revealing that the Pahalgam terror plot was set in motion a week before the attack. According to the NIA, an app was used to log coordinates, and data analysis of two cellphones uncovered photos of the terrorists and chats with a Pakistan-based handler. The chargesheet provides detailed evidence of the conspiracy.
