Uttarakhand Technical University cancels two exams after alleged paper leak by external setter
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Technical University has cancelled two examinations for the current semester after an external paper setter allegedly leaked a question paper. The decision affects students of 12 institutes affiliated with Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University.
The Controller of Examinations, Dr V K Patel, stated that the university received a complaint regarding the Machine Learning for Internet of Things examination. Following multiple committee inquiries by the university and the institution that reported the leak, it was found that the external paper setter for the subject had allegedly shared questions identical to those appearing in the examination with students through the institution’s internal portal or WhatsApp before the exam.
The inquiry also revealed that another question paper prepared by the same faculty member—Electromagnetic Field Theory—was suspected to have been leaked. Consequently, both examinations have been cancelled.
The university has not yet announced a new schedule for the cancelled papers. Further investigation is ongoing, and disciplinary action against the paper setter is expected.
