Uddhav Thackeray Launches 'Ram Raksha Andolan' in Nagpur, Accuses BJP of Exploiting Hindutva

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday launched the party's 'Ram Raksha Andolan' from Nagpur, targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with sharp allegations. He accused the BJP of failing to protect temples and exploiting Hindutva for political gain.

Addressing a public meeting outside a Ram temple in Ram Nagar, Thackeray urged people to withdraw their support from the BJP. "If Vidarbha withdraws its support, the BJP will collapse," he said.

Thackeray, accompanied by party leader Aaditya Thackeray and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, offered prayers at the temple before the meeting. He claimed that the fight was no longer about building temples but protecting them. He alleged corruption in temple administration and announced that the movement would be taken across Maharashtra before culminating in Ayodhya and Kashi Vishwanath.

In a letter to NC president Farooq Abdullah, she argued that a protest focused solely on statehood would legitimise the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir's special status.
