Trainee Pilot Safe After Cessna 152 Makes Emergency Landing Near Aligarh Highway
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh: A 28-year-old trainee pilot escaped unhurt after a Cessna 152 aircraft made an emergency landing near a highway in Aligarh on Monday. The aircraft, operated by Chetak Aviation, was on a solo training flight when the incident occurred.
According to officials from the flying school, the pilot is safe. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an investigation into the incident.
In a statement, the aviation ministry confirmed: 'On June 29, a Chetak Aviation Cessna 152 aircraft (VT-AFB) engaged in solo flying at Aligarh crash landed in a field in Kasgunj. The pilot is reported to be safe. DGCA is investigating the occurrence.'
A Chetak official added that the aircraft came to rest on the side of a highway. Further details are expected following the DGCA probe.
This incident marks the second flying training-related event in Uttar Pradesh within a week. On June 24, a woman trainee pilot was injured while deboarding a twin-engine trainer aircraft at Kanpur's Chakeri Airport. The incident involved Garg Aviation and occurred when the propeller was still running.
The DGCA has been asked to submit a report on Monday's incident at the earliest.
