Islamabad: A standoff has emerged between the Government of Pakistan and the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) over the venue for upcoming talks, raising concerns about the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law. The government has proposed holding the talks at the Prime Minister's House, citing security and convenience.
