Noida to host India International Textile Machinery Exhibition 2026 in December
The India International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITME) 2026 will be held in Noida from December 4 to 9, bringing together more than 1,800 participants from across the globe. Organised by ITME Society, the event was announced during the first Indian road show held in Coimbatore on Tuesday, a key hub for the country's textile industry.
The exhibition will be spread across 18 halls covering approximately 2,40,000 square metres, with exhibitors expected from nearly 95 countries. According to the organisers, the event will showcase cutting-edge innovations, advanced technologies, and sustainable solutions spanning the entire textile value chain—from fibre, yarn, and fabric to finished products and technical textiles. The complete spectrum of textile production, including spinning, weaving, knitting, processing, and garment manufacturing, will be covered. Special zones are expected for technical textiles, digital printing, and renewable energy solutions for textile plants.
This edition of the exhibition places special emphasis on sustainability, digitalisation, automation, and Industry 4.0. These themes reflect the ongoing transformation in textile manufacturing, where smart machinery and data-driven processes are playing an increasingly central role. The exhibition is expected to serve as a platform to demonstrate India's growing capabilities in advanced textile machinery and sustainable manufacturing solutions.
Alongside the exhibition, a technical conference will be held on December 5 and 6, bringing together global experts, researchers, and technology leaders to discuss the future of textile manufacturing. A CEO conclave on the theme “India’s Integrated Textile Transformation: Advanced Materials, Smart Machinery and Strategic Trade Alliances” is also planned. The event will feature live demonstrations of machinery and dedicated buyer-seller meetings to facilitate business connections and technology exchange.
The announcement comes at a time when the Indian textile sector is poised for growth. Prabhu Dhamodharan, convenor of the Indian Texpreneurs Federation, highlighted that European apparel imports are currently dominated by just two players holding more than 50 percent share. He said the scope for India is considerable in both garments and home textiles in the European and UK markets. The recent free trade agreements signed with these countries have opened up fresh opportunities for Indian manufacturers, he added, and the sector is expected to see significant investments in the coming months. He further noted that Indian manufacturers are increasingly focusing on sustainable practices and value-added products to compete effectively in international markets.
The ITME exhibition has historically served as a significant international gathering for the textile machinery industry. For India, hosting such an event in Noida—a city within the National Capital Region—provides an opportunity to position itself as a global manufacturing hub. India is one of the largest producers of textiles and garments globally, and the sector is a major contributor to the country's export earnings and employment. Events like ITME are seen as crucial for modernising the industry and aligning it with global standards.
The participation of exhibitors from nearly 95 countries is expected to boost cross-border trade and technology transfer, besides offering Indian manufacturers a chance to showcase their products to a global audience. With the focus on next-generation technologies and sustainable practices, the 2026 edition of ITME is likely to set the agenda for the future of textile manufacturing in India and beyond. The event will also underscore the importance of partnerships between industry, academia, and government in driving innovation and competitiveness.
