Noida Fire: Two Die, 50 Families Rescued After EV Charging Sparks Blaze

A fire broke out in a residential building in Mamura village, Noida, on Wednesday, July 15, claiming the lives of two individuals and prompting the rescue of approximately 50 families, police officials said.

According to the Noida police, the blaze was triggered by sparks from an electric vehicle being charged. The flames rapidly spread to nearby petrol-powered vehicles, intensifying the fire.

Upon receiving the alert, local police and the Chief Fire Officer rushed to the scene with seven fire tenders and a hydraulic platform. Firefighters successfully extinguished the flames and evacuated around 50 families from the building.

Two individuals—a man and a woman—suffered severe health complications due to smoke inhalation. They were immediately rushed to the district hospital via ambulance, where they were declared dead.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. No further casualties have been reported, and the evacuated families are receiving assistance from local relief agencies.
