UGC NET June 2026 Results Declared for 84 Subjects: Check Category-Wise Cut-Offs
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) June 2026 session for 84 subjects. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now view their scorecards and the subject-wise and category-wise cut-off marks on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
A total of 7,73,806 candidates registered for the exam, including 4,30,195 female, 3,43,575 male, and 36 third-gender candidates. The examination was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 655 centres in 286 cities. It took place on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, and July 5 for 87 subjects across the country.
However, for three subjects — English, Commerce, and Sociology — the examination will be re-conducted on September 9 and 10, 2026. Consequently, results for these three subjects have not been declared yet. Candidates who appeared for these subjects may encounter an "Invalid Application Number/Password" message if they attempt to access their UGC-NET scorecard. Their results will be made available only after the re-conducted examinations are completed.
The NTA had released the question papers, provisional answer keys, and recorded responses of candidates for the 84 subjects on August 16. Candidates were invited to raise challenges until August 18. After expert review of these challenges, the final answer keys were finalised, and the results were processed.
Here are the results at a glance: Out of 7,73,806 registered candidates, 6,07,151 appeared for the examination. Among them, 4,241 candidates qualified for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor, 45,904 qualified for Assistant Professor and admission to PhD, and 97,434 qualified for PhD only.
The NTA has stated that the eligibility criteria, self-declaration, and various documents of qualified candidates will be verified by the concerned authorities according to the norms specified in the UGC-NET June 2026 information bulletin. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for updates and further instructions.
