According to the IMD's latest bulletin, heatwave conditions are very likely to occur in isolated pockets of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar and Peddapalli districts. A heatwave is declared when temperatures are significantly above normal for the region, posing health risks such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
In contrast, heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. The IMD defines heavy rainfall as precipitation of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all 33 districts of the state. Residents are advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open areas to reduce the risk of lightning strikes.
For Hyderabad city and its surrounding areas, the next 24 hours will see a generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are likely in the city. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 33°C and the minimum around 24°C.
The IMD has urged local authorities to take necessary precautions, including ensuring availability of drinking water and medical facilities in heatwave-affected areas, and maintaining drainage systems in areas prone to heavy rainfall.
