Hyderabad Police Rush NEET Candidate to Correct Centre, Five Minutes Before Deadline
A last-minute confusion over examination centres nearly cost a student his chance to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG in Hyderabad on Sunday. Hasan Hashmi, accompanied by his father, arrived at the Kendriya Vidyalaya centre in Tirumalagiri at around 1:20 p.m., only to discover that his allotted centre was the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bolarum — about 12 kilometres away.
With the gates scheduled to close at 1:30 p.m., the family feared they would miss the deadline. In a state of distress, they approached the police stationed nearby. Bolarum Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramesh Kumar arranged a police vehicle to transport the student to the correct centre. Officers coordinated the shortest route and facilitated movement through the Rashtrapati Nilayam area, a usually restricted zone, to save time.
The student reached the Bolarum Kendriya Vidyalaya at approximately 1:25 p.m., five minutes before the gates closed, allowing him to appear for the medical entrance examination. The incident highlights the timely assistance provided by the Hyderabad police in a high-pressure situation.
