BJP President Accuses Telangana Congress of Fund Misuse in Musi Project
BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday accused the Congress government in Telangana of misusing public funds in the Musi Riverfront Project, alleging that the ruling party was continuing the corruption of the previous BRS regime. Speaking at the BJP Telangana State executive committee meeting in Ghatkesar, Nabin claimed that taxpayers' money was being diverted for political purposes rather than public welfare.
Nabin alleged that the Congress had become synonymous with corruption, echoing his criticism of the previous BRS government's handling of the Kaleshwaram project. He asserted that the Congress was repeating the same pattern of irregularities. The BJP leader was accompanied by senior party figures, including Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and general secretary Sunil Bansal.
He further accused the Congress of promoting what he termed the 'criminalisation of politics' and supporting divisive forces. 'We will hold the Congress government accountable at every level — from the streets to the Legislative Assembly. The countdown to its end has begun,' Nabin said, demanding a full account of all expenditures and decisions.
Expressing confidence in the BJP's prospects in Telangana, Nabin alleged a 'political collusion' among the AIMIM, Congress, and BRS. He condemned attacks on temples and reiterated the BJP's opposition to religion-based reservations, arguing that benefits should instead reach Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Scheduled Tribes.
Highlighting what he described as 12 years of 'good governance' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nabin said 25 crore people had been lifted out of poverty and urged party workers to contribute to the vision of a developed India by 2047. He credited the Centre with preserving India's cultural heritage.
