Bihar CM Launches Grievance Redressal Programme, Vows Time-Bound Resolution

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday inaugurated the 'State-Level Sahyog Programme' at the Chief Minister's Secretariat. The programme aims to resolve pending grievances of citizens. According to officials, 129 applications were registered for the event, of which 100 applicants were present and their cases were resolved on the spot.

Addressing officials, Mr. Choudhary stressed the need for high-quality and time-bound resolution of every grievance to strengthen public trust in the government. He warned that action would be taken against any official or employee who fails to cooperate in resolving applications or shows laxity in work.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government's objective is to ensure transparent, impartial, and time-bound resolution of every citizen's grievances. He noted that many people have had their issues resolved through earlier 'Sahyog Shivirs' (assistance camps). For those still dissatisfied with decisions, the state-level programme provides a platform for re-examination.

Mr. Choudhary also directed officials to give widespread publicity to the 'Mukhyamantri Solar Yojana' (Chief Minister's Solar Scheme), which provides free electricity up to 125 units and financial benefits for generation beyond 126 units. He urged citizens to install solar panels on rooftops and promote solar energy. He said the government aims to develop remote villages into 'Solar Villages' as a permanent solution to electricity problems.

Regarding pension benefits, the Chief Minister instructed officials to process pending applications quickly so that pension amounts can be disbursed by the 10th of next month. He emphasised that applications should not be rejected summarily for lack of documents; instead, applicants should be given notice and an opportunity to provide required documents, ensuring no eligible person is deprived of benefits due to technical reasons.

Mr. Choudhary also directed that road construction work should be expedited after the monsoon season. He urged all officials to treat citizens with respect and sensitivity and ensure timely resolution of grievances. He noted that the goal is for people to receive resolutions within 30 days through the assistance camps.

The Chief Minister remarked, 'If an application reaches me, it implies that it was not processed correctly at the initial stage.' He instructed the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), District Certificate and Land Reforms Officer (DCLR), and District Magistrate to monitor application processing at the Circle Officer (CO) and Block Development Officer (BDO) levels. Divisional Commissioners and departmental Secretaries were also asked to review decisions.

The event was attended by both Deputy Chief Ministers – Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav – as well as ministers from concerned departments, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries. District Magistrates and senior officials from all districts joined via video conferencing.
