Bengaluru Couple and Teen Daughter Murdered; Elder Daughter and Boyfriend Suspected

A 55-year-old man, his wife, and their younger daughter were found murdered in their apartment in east Bengaluru late on June 22. The police have identified the deceased as Somasundar (55), Muthulakshmi (48), and Supriya (20). Their bodies were discovered at a flat in Sai Green Apartment in Dhamnika Layout, Seegehalli, under the K.R. Puram police station limits.

The primary suspects are the couple’s elder daughter, Shwetha, and her boyfriend, Kenneth. According to police, Shwetha and Kenneth were in a live-in relationship and had been living in the same flat for about a month and a half. The victims had reportedly opposed the relationship, leading to frequent disputes within the family.

On the night of the incident, the victims visited Shwetha around 7 p.m. Police suspect that an argument over the relationship escalated, resulting in the stabbing deaths of the trio. The accused are believed to have fled the scene after the crime.

Neighbours alerted the authorities after noticing suspicious activity. Senior officers from the K.R. Puram police station inspected the spot, and the bodies were sent to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the accused. Bengaluru East Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Saidulu Adavath stated, “There might have been an argument, following which the stabbing occurred. Police teams are working to trace the accused. Detailed information will be shared after their arrest.”
