₹10 Crore Allocated for Kotilingala Temple Facelift Ahead of Godavari Pushkaralu 2027

The Telangana government has allocated ₹10 crore for the development of the historic Sri Koteswara Swamy temple at Kotilingala in Jagtial district, as part of preparations for the Godavari Pushkaralu festival in 2027.

Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar announced the allocation on Sunday, stating that the government has drawn up plans to improve pilgrim amenities and road connectivity to the shrine, located on the banks of the Godavari River.

The temple is one of several major riverside shrines, including Basar, Dharmapuri, and Bhadrachalam, that are being developed ahead of the Pushkaralu, a significant Hindu pilgrimage event that occurs once every 12 years.

Minister Kumar said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had made budgetary allocations well in advance for the event. Of the ₹117 crore earmarked for the Dharmapuri Assembly Constituency for Pushkaralu-related works, ₹8 crore each has been set aside for the development of the Pushkar Ghat at Kotilingala and for constructing a road between Kotilingala and Pashigam.

An additional ₹20 crore has been sanctioned for four-laning the Velgatoor-Kotilingala road. Furthermore, ₹10 crore has been allocated for the development of the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple in Dharmapuri.

The government aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for pilgrims expected to visit during the Pushkaralu in 2027.
