Trump warns Iran 'will no longer exist' if US escalates; Iran strikes Kuwait, Bahrain
The United States military said on Saturday (June 27, 2026) that it had struck 10 targets in Iran at the direction of President Donald Trump, continuing a series of attacks that have unsettled the fragile ceasefire in West Asia.
In a social media post on Truth Social, Mr. Trump stated that the US had 'struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!' He warned of a point where the US might no longer be able to be reasonable 'and will be forced to militarily complete the job.'
'If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!' Mr. Trump wrote.
In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced on Sunday (June 28, 2026) that they had carried out strikes against Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for the US attacks on Iranian territory. They warned that any further aggression would be met with a 'crushing response.'
The escalation comes amid ongoing tensions following the US withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and a series of incidents that have heightened hostilities in the region. The ceasefire, which had been brokered earlier this year, now appears increasingly fragile.
Both Kuwait and Bahrain have condemned the Iranian strikes, and the United Nations has called for restraint on all sides. The situation remains fluid, with diplomatic efforts underway to prevent a broader conflict.
