TET 2026 Paper Leak: Seven Arrested, Mastermind Still at Large

Maharashtra police investigating the alleged leak of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 question paper have arrested three more individuals, bringing the total number of arrests to seven, officials announced on Friday.

The special investigation team (SIT) appointed by the state government apprehended Sonu Singh, Mithun Singh, and Kapil Dahiya. They were produced before a local magistrate on Thursday and remanded to police custody, according to officials.

The TET 2026, scheduled for June 28, was postponed a day earlier after authorities in Thane district discovered that a portion of the question paper had been leaked. Three people were initially arrested in connection with the case.

The probe has revealed that the racket extends across Delhi, Agra, Bihar, and Haryana. Earlier, Suman Kumari Gupta, wife of alleged mastermind Vijendra Gupta, was arrested from Patna after call records and financial transactions linked her to the case.

The SIT has dispatched teams to several states to track down Vijendra Gupta and other accomplices, officials said.

The leak has affected nearly 600,000 candidates. The incident comes on the heels of the NEET-UG paper leak, which had previously sparked a national outcry over examination security.
