TDP to launch 45-day door-to-door campaign from July 27 to highlight coalition achievements

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has announced a 45-day door-to-door campaign starting July 27, aimed at showcasing what it describes as the achievements of the state's coalition government over the past two years. The campaign comes as the alliance completes two years in power following the 2024 elections.

In a teleconference with party leaders and public representatives on Sunday, July 26, 2026, TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the need to highlight two years of governance and key issues. He noted that the TDP-led coalition—comprising the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena Party—secured a victory in the 2024 assembly elections, which he attributed to public confidence in their leadership and commitment to welfare and development.

According to Naidu, the alliance achieved a 94% strike rate and secured 57% of the total vote share. He contrasted this with the performance of the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, stating that the YSRCP's seats in the Legislative Assembly fell from 151 to 11 due to what he called its failures and destructive governance.

Naidu urged party workers to ensure a sweep for the TDP and its allies in upcoming local body elections. He called for dedicated efforts from every individual to achieve this goal. He also directed Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to participate in the outreach programme and to promptly address any concerns raised by the public.

The campaign is intended to inform voters about the work done by the coalition since taking office, as well as to highlight the perceived shortcomings of the previous YSRCP administration. Naidu argued that the continuation of the coalition government is essential for the state's progress.

The door-to-door initiative reflects the party's strategy to consolidate support ahead of local elections, using direct engagement with citizens to communicate its message.
