Supreme Court to Hear Petitions Seeking CBI Probe in Ram Temple Donation Case
A three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, is scheduled to hear petitions on Monday, July 13, 2026, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe and protection of electronic evidence in the Ram Temple donations embezzlement case. The hearing will take place as the court reopens after its summer vacation.
The petitions include one filed by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Sudhakar Singh, which demands the full financial disclosure of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, including details of foreign contributions. The MP argues that the matter is of exceptional public importance and that the integrity of the investigation is crucial for maintaining public confidence in a revered religious institution.
The case involves allegations of misuse of funds collected for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The petitioners seek a fair and independent probe to ensure constitutional safeguards are upheld. The court will also consider a plea for the preservation of electronic evidence related to the case.
