RSS Voices Concern Over Ram Temple Donation Irregularities, Expresses Faith in SIT Probe

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has expressed concern over recently reported irregularities and alleged misuse of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The statement came on the concluding day of its annual Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak held in Belagavi, Karnataka.

Sunil Ambekar, RSS’ all-India Convenor for Communications, said the embezzlement case was discussed in detail during the three-day meeting of regional convenors. Most speakers expressed confidence in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Uttar Pradesh Police, which is probing the matter. The investigation was initiated at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, the body responsible for temple construction.

Delegates underscored the need for measures to ensure such incidents do not recur and to conduct temple activities in a manner that does not disturb the faith of devotees, Ambekar added.

The meeting, held at Sant Meera School in Angol, was attended by regional convenors from all states, office bearers, executives, and heads of 42 organisations affiliated to the RSS. Senior leaders including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale addressed some sessions. A total of 226 Pracharaks from across the country, 83 Sangh Shiksha Varga members, and 12 Karyakarta Vikas Varga members participated. The event also trained 18,842 volunteers.

Discussions covered the “current situation” in the country, including organisational expansion, social initiatives, and national issues. Speakers raised concerns about demographic changes, population imbalance, and the pan-India census. Other topics included rural development, family welfare, disaster management, and environmental protection.

The leadership also reviewed preparations for the RSS centenary celebrations and discussed an intensive expansion drive planned for September to increase the number of shakhas across the country. A proposal to engage centenary participants in long-term social service activities and the “fivefold transformation” initiative was also discussed. The annual travel programme of Dr. Mohan Bhagwat for 2026-27 was finalised.

Additionally, senior leaders addressed the issue of drug abuse, emphasising the need for a strong de-addiction movement in the country. Some also spoke of the RSS’s role in commemorating the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Maharaj.
