RSS Condemns Theft at Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Calls for Strict Punishment

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has issued its first official statement regarding the alleged theft of donated funds from the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The organization expressed deep hurt over the incident and demanded that those found guilty face severe punishment.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said, “The grand temple constructed at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi has become a center of reverence, faith, and devotion for the entire Hindu society, owing to the struggles of generations and the dedication, sacrifice, and martyrdom of crores of Rambhakts. The unfortunate incident of theft in the donation boxes kept at the Shri Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya has deeply hurt the sentiments and faith of the entire society and Ram devotees; we are all extremely pained and angered by this event.”

The statement emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and assured that any person found guilty must be held accountable. “It is essential to ensure that anyone found guilty after the investigation faces severe punishment,” Hosabale said.

The alleged theft reportedly occurred from donation boxes placed inside the temple premises. Authorities have launched an investigation, and security measures have been reviewed. The RSS statement did not provide details on the amount stolen or specific suspects.

The Ram Mandir, inaugurated in January 2024, attracts millions of devotees and donors. The incident has sparked discussions on security and transparency in the management of temple funds.
