Protest Withdrawn After Centre Accepts Demands of Cockroach Janata Party

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday agreed to withdraw its protest at Jantar Mantar after the central government accepted its three main demands, following the third round of talks. The announcement was made at a joint press conference with Union Ministers Jitendra Singh and J.P. Nadda.

CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the first demand—resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan—was fulfilled earlier in the day. The second demand, withdrawal of all FIRs filed against protesters in Delhi and other BJP-ruled states, was also accepted by the government. The third demand, compensation of ₹1 crore each to families who lost loved ones after the NEET examination was cancelled, was likewise agreed to.

Another CJP member, Saurav Das, stated that the government has assured that copies of all FIRs—estimated at 15 to 20 in Delhi alone—will be shared within three to four days, and that withdrawal of cases will be completed shortly. A written guarantee is expected from the government by Tuesday.

Mr. Ranka urged protesters to immediately return home peacefully, adding that future strategy would be communicated later.
