Over 4,200 Workers, 657 Employers Benefit from PM's Job Scheme in Tiruchi

A total of 4,225 employees and 657 employers in the Tiruchi region are set to receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), an employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at promoting formal employment.

The scheme, launched by the central government, supports first-time entrants into the organised workforce and encourages employers to create additional jobs. Eligible first-time employees receive one month's wage, up to ₹15,000, while employers get incentives for two years for generating additional employment. The manufacturing sector is eligible for extended support of up to four years, promoting sustained job creation in labour-intensive industries.

In the Tiruchi jurisdiction of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), approximately ₹2.28 crore will be disbursed as incentives to employees, and employers will receive ₹31.43 crore. The disbursement was scheduled for June 19, 2026, according to an EPFO press release.

A regional event marking the disbursement was held at the National Institute of Technology campus on Friday, as announced by the EPFO.
