NTA Chief Assures '100% Confidence' in NEET UG 2026 Re-exam Integrity, Denies Paper Leak Allegations
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday under what it described as unprecedented security measures. Over 20 lakh candidates appeared at 5,440 centres across India and 14 abroad, with the exam held in 13 languages.
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh stated that the agency has received no complaints of a question paper leak and expressed full confidence in the process. 'We are 100 per cent confident about the integrity of the examination,' Singh said, adding that reports from across the country have been positive.
The re-examination was ordered after allegations of irregularities, including claims of a paper leak, marred the original test. Singh refuted these claims, asserting that the entire exercise was conducted smoothly with support from state governments, central ministries, and nearly seven lakh personnel deployed nationwide.
The NTA emphasised that security arrangements were tightened to ensure fairness and convenience for candidates. Singh noted, 'Everything went well. We have received good reports, and the exam was conducted with full security as well as convenience for the students.'
