Non-Engineering Students Dominate IIM Bodh Gaya's New MBA Batch
The incoming MBA batch at IIM Bodh Gaya is predominantly composed of students from non-engineering backgrounds, marking a continued trend towards academic diversity in management education. The institute's flagship MBA programme for 2026-28 has admitted 293 students, including 69 women and 224 men, with three international students.
According to the institute, 64.85% of the batch come from non-engineering disciplines such as commerce, humanities, life sciences, pharmacy and healthcare, while 35.15% have engineering backgrounds. The cohort represents 23 states and Union Territories, reflecting geographical diversity.
The batch includes both fresh graduates and experienced professionals. A total of 114 students have prior industry experience, averaging 24.13 months. The institute noted that students have achievements in academics, research, innovation, sports, cultural activities and community service.
The 10-day Orientation Programme 2026 began recently, welcoming the new batch to the campus.
