Moga Blast: Bittu Protests Denial to Inspect Site, Congress Seeks CM's Ouster

A low-intensity blast occurred at the Moga Sadar police station in Punjab on Wednesday. On Thursday, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, attempted to inspect the site but claimed that Punjab Police obstructed him.

According to Bittu, he was initially prevented from entering the police station premises. He engaged in a verbal exchange with police officers and staged a sit-in protest alongside BJP workers. Later, in a Facebook post, Bittu stated that the police allowed him access after his protest.

Speaking to reporters, Bittu questioned the police's actions, asking, 'Such blasts will occur everyday if we try to hide them. What is there to hide? Why are they not letting me visit the spot?' Police officials, including Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Bal Krishan Singla, attempted to calm the situation.

The Congress party has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, citing a failure in maintaining law and order. Congress leaders argued that the incident reflects a deteriorating security situation in the state.

The blast, which took place on Wednesday, did not result in any injuries. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
