I look forward to the talks with Prime Minister Albanese. I will also have the opportunity to interact with the Indian diaspora, which is an important pillar of our partnership.”
The summit marks the third such annual meeting between the two leaders, reflecting the growing ties between India and Australia. Both countries have been working closely on security and economic issues in the Indo-Pacific region, with a shared interest in maintaining stability and promoting free trade. Discussions are also expected to focus on critical minerals, which are essential for clean energy technologies and defence applications, as well as expanding educational exchanges and research collaborations.
The Indian diaspora in Australia, numbering over 700,000, plays a significant role in bilateral relations. Modi is scheduled to interact with members of the community during his visit.
