Minor Accused of Sexually Assaulting Infant in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur
In a disturbing incident in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a nine-month-old girl, who is a relative. The incident came to light when the child was found missing from her home on Friday night.
According to police, the girl was sleeping beside her mother when the accused allegedly took her away. The family discovered her missing on Saturday morning and launched a search. The child was found in a field nearly 500 metres from her home, with severe injuries.
She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. Medical examinations have confirmed sexual assault, though other forensic reports are awaited. The accused told police that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He has been apprehended and legal proceedings are underway.
The case has raised serious concerns about child safety and the need for stricter safeguards. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation and appropriate action as per the law.
