Migrant Worker Dies After Assault in Thrissur; Six Arrested

A 27-year-old migrant worker from Odisha died on Sunday morning after being assaulted at a rented house in Thrissur city. The victim, Dhanpati Nayak, had sustained serious head injuries and was undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital, Thrissur.

The incident occurred on June 18 at a house in Korappath Lane near Kuruppam Road. According to police, Nayak, along with two others from Odisha, had visited the house on the night of the assault. An argument over money escalated into violence, during which the accused allegedly attacked the trio.

Nayak suffered fatal head injuries, while the others sustained minor injuries. Police have arrested six persons in connection with the case, including four women and two men. Preliminary investigation indicates that the rented house was occupied by migrant workers from Odisha and Assam. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Further investigation is underway to establish the full details of the case and the role of those arrested.
