KEA Reverses Stand: Karnataka Class 12 Students Can Now Submit Revised Marks for KCET Rank Update

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced a three-day window from July 4 to July 6 for Class 12 students from CBSE, CISCE, and state education boards to submit their updated marksheets if their marks have been revised after re-evaluation. The KEA will then revise the students' Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) ranks accordingly.

This decision marks a reversal of the KEA's earlier stance. Previously, the authority had stated that revised marks could not be considered because the respective boards announced the re-evaluation results after the counselling process had begun. However, following representations from affected candidates, the KEA reviewed its position and decided to accommodate the requests.

The announcement comes a day after a news report highlighted how CBSE students were left in a difficult position as their re-evaluated Class 12 marks were not being used to update their KCET rankings. The KEA's new order aims to address these grievances and ensure fair assessment for all students.

Students who have received revised marks from their respective boards are advised to submit their updated marksheets to the KEA within the specified dates to have their KCET ranks recalculated. This opportunity is limited to those whose marks have changed due to re-evaluation.
