Jaishankar to Visit Gulf, US, Belgium in Six-Nation Tour Starting July 5

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will begin a six-nation tour on July 5, covering four Gulf countries — Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman — along with the United States and Belgium, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Saturday. The tour is scheduled from July 5 to 15.

The visit aims to assess the current situation in the West Asia region, particularly regarding the US-Iran peace framework. These Gulf nations have long hosted American military personnel and bases, and have been affected by the ongoing conflict in the region. Iran has previously launched retaliatory attacks against these facilities in response to US and Israeli military operations.

Additionally, Qatar and Oman, together with Pakistan, have played key roles as mediators in efforts to secure a ceasefire with Iran. Jaishankar's engagements will include discussions on bilateral relations, regional security, and mutual cooperation.

The tour underscores India's continued diplomatic engagement with key global players amid volatile geopolitical dynamics.
