ISRO Bengaluru Headquarters Hit by Second Hoax Bomb Threat in Two Days
Bengaluru: For the second consecutive day, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bengaluru received a bomb threat via email, which police later declared a hoax. The email, written in Tamil, was sent on Friday morning and claimed that an explosive device had been planted at Antariksha Bhavan, the space agency’s headquarters on New BEL Road.
Upon receiving the alert, ISRO officials immediately evacuated the premises as a precautionary measure. The Bengaluru police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), conducted a thorough search of the campus. After a comprehensive inspection, security personnel found no explosives or suspicious objects, and the threat was confirmed to be a hoax.
The incident comes a day after a similar hoax threat was received by ISRO on Thursday. Police traced the sender of that email to Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are now examining whether the two threats are linked.
This is a developing story. More details will be reported as they become available.
