Indore Law Student Arrested for Selling AI-Generated Fake NEET Papers on Instagram
The Indore Crime Branch has arrested a 19-year-old first-year law student for allegedly operating an online racket that targeted NEET aspirants by selling AI-generated question sets while falsely claiming access to leaked examination papers, police said on Thursday.
The accused has been identified as Akshay Malviya, a resident of the Lasudia area and a student at a law college in Indore. He was arrested following inputs received from police in Rajasthan's Kota, a major coaching hub for medical entrance aspirants.
According to investigators, Malviya ran an Instagram account through which he posted advertisements claiming to have access to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) question paper and exclusive study material ahead of the examination. Students were directed to links attached to his social media profile and asked to make online payments ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 200.
Police said the documents sold were not real exam papers but questions generated using artificial intelligence tools. The accused is being questioned about the number of students who fell victim to the scam and the total amount collected. Further investigation is underway to trace any accomplices or larger networks involved.
The arrest comes amid heightened vigilance by authorities to curb the sale of fake exam materials, especially ahead of competitive entrance tests like NEET. The Indore Crime Branch has urged students to rely only on official sources for study material and to report any such fraudulent activities.
