Google's Gemini Spark expands to macOS with real-time tracking and app integrations
Google has introduced a series of updates to Gemini Spark, its autonomous AI agent designed to automate complex tasks. The updates include a dedicated macOS experience, deeper integration with third-party services, and real-time tracking of topics and events.
Gemini Spark can now function beyond a traditional chat interface on macOS, enabling users to automate tasks involving files and applications on their desktops. For example, it can organise files, generate spreadsheets using locally stored documents, and schedule recurring workflows. Google emphasised that Spark accesses only files that users explicitly grant permission to use.
The company also announced plans to enable remote task execution in the future. This feature would allow users to assign multi-step actions from a smartphone—such as retrieving information from a Mac and sharing it via email—while the computer performs the tasks in the background.
