Delhi University Issues Over 93,000 Seats in First Undergraduate Allocation Round

The University of Delhi released its first allocation list for undergraduate admissions on Thursday, issuing 93,033 seat allotments across 221 programmes in 67 colleges. This number exceeds the approximately 71,600 available seats, a practice the university follows each year to account for expected withdrawals and to reduce the number of subsequent admission rounds.

According to the university, a total of 2,18,284 candidates registered through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), of whom 2,08,043 completed the preference-filling process. The allocation rate stands at 86.1%, with 42,019 male and 51,014 female candidates receiving seats.

The university has set a deadline of July 18 at 11:59 p.m. for shortlisted candidates to accept their allotted seats. After accepting, candidates will receive a payment link to pay the admission fee. Those who wish to seek an upgrade to a higher preference can reorder their choices until July 21 at 11:59 p.m.

Among the allotted seats, 1,243 have been given to single girl children and 242 to orphan students. The second allocation list is scheduled for release on July 25, and the academic session is set to begin on July 28.
